( Lalli best be careful not to push him in during those hours either, then. )
Fine, if it doesn't change anything. ( He scoots the ladder closer to his makeshift window, arm tingling from extending it so awkwardly. The fact that he has something to lean on, boards to support his weight as he leans out of the hole, is still really crazy to him. )
This house will be done in a month or two. ( It's wistful. The camera angle stays the same, but his head circles around. Emil's room is almost complete, at least structurally. It's missing another foot of boards, a roof, a finessed window structure. Then it's basically good to go. Other rooms aren't so complete, but no part of the house is simply beams and floor anymore. The tacked on month accounts for making it more homey and adding the maximum magic allowed for amenities. Paint.
❰ it's true - the house is coming together faster than lalli had honestly imagined. not quite as fast as if honir had continued to help the process along, but onni's help and even sometimes reynir's have sped things up pretty dramatically compared to when it was just lalli and emil. it's given him time to scout sometimes too, the way he is now.
maybe one day, he'll bring emil along.
at some point his gaze drifted back to the river, almost distantly - but it refocuses now, and on a sigh he says: ❱ Should probably keep going. ❰ lalli hadn't meant for this to become a conversation. he'd only meant to show him the river. clearly he'd underestimated emil. ❱
( It's all well and good. Emil's own attention also wanes, more content to take a few minutes away from the manual labor he's putting himself through. For as much of a conversationalist as he is, it's also a comfort to just sit down and enjoy the pseudo-presence of another person there. )
Sure. I've got baseboards to deal with, anyway. ( There's a few more seconds of feed on his end as he takes one last look at the calming river area before shutting it off, somewhat begrudgingly returning to his self-imposed woodwork. )
